What personal data we collect and why we collect it
The Jesus Network collects personal information via the Internet through several avenues: webform(s) on the website, MailChimp email sign up form, Acuity Scheduling calendar and events sign-up, CanadaHelps online donation forms, and Google Analytics cookies. MailChimp, Acuity Scheduling (which is owned by Squarespace), CanadaHelps, and Google Analytics each have their own privacy policies in addition to our own.
The Jesus Network also collects personal information via paper donation form.
The Jesus Network website also has an embedded Facebook feed. The Jesus Network does not collect visitor information via the Facebook feed, however the Facebook plugin does interact with its own cookies. Facebook has its own data policy.
How your data will be used
Data submitted via webforms on the website
Data submitted via MailChimp
Your email address will be used to send you email newsletters with updates from the Jesus Network's ministry activity, prayer requests, volunteer opportunities, and giving opportunities.
Your name, address, and home church will be cross-referenced against our donor database in order to verify whether you are already in the database. If you are, your email address will be updated or added to your existing information in the donor database. If you are not already in the donor database, your information will not be added to the donor database. If, after signing up for emails, you become a donor, your email address may be added to your donor profile at that later time.
Jesus Network currently does not send tax receipts by email.
Data submitted via AcuityScheduling
Your name and names of other registrants (if provided by you), will be used for event planning purposes, i.e. creating a guest list and count of expected participants for an event. Other information, such as whether you've volunteered with us before, is used to help us cater the program to the group, i.e. determine the overall group's familiarity with our ministry.
Your name, email address, and other information provided will be cross-referenced against our existing, locally hosted (i.e. offline) donor database in order to verify whether you are already in the database. If you are, your information will be added or updated to your existing information in the donor database. If an event has a registration fee, that fee will be recorded to our database (as a fee, not as a donation). If you do not have a record in our donor database and there is no registration fee, your information will not be added to the database.
Data submitted via CanadaHelps
CanadaHelps collects your name, address, and email address for the purpose of issuing tax-receipts. CanadaHelps only shares with the Jesus Network the information that you choose to share with us.
If you choose to share this information with the Jesus Network, your name, address, and/or email address will be cross-referenced against our existing, locally hosted (i.e. offline) donor database in order to verify whether you are already in the database. If you are, your information will be added or updated to your existing information in the donor database. If you are not, your information will be added to create a new record in our donor database.
We will use the collected data to send you with updates from the Jesus Network's ministry activities, prayer requests, volunteer opportunities, and giving opportunities. Depending on your selected choice, the newsletter may be sent by physical mail or by email.
Donations made through CanadaHelps are receipted by CanadaHelps.
