Hairdresser is a former Muslim whom we first met over 10 years ago through our Christmas basket outreach. Now she helps Dreamer with the Christmas basket outreach herself, praying others will come to know Jesus as she did,  and accompanies her on visits with our Muslim contacts.

Hairdresser's testimony

In 2012, we met 'The Hairdresser'. Her neighbour in Thorncliffe Park had received a Christmas basket, and Hairdresser asked who gave her the basket. The friend pointed her to an apartment in her building, which we were using to pack baskets.

Dreamer lived in that building then, and had become a believer just a few years before. Believing Jesus can do all things, Dreamer asked the superintendent to give us a FREE vacant apartment for the month of December to run our Christmas basket project. Miraculously, the superintendent agreed, and for the next eight years God gave us free space in that building every Christmas!!! What a blessing!

The Hairdresser had a hair salon studio in that building as well. She knocked on the door of our "Christmas apartment" and asked if she could have a basket. She was still a Muslim, but was interested in Christianity. She sat and listened to Dreamer's testimony of how Jesus changed her life. This started a new and lasting friendship where Dreamer and Hairdresser met, prayed, and read the Bible together.

The following year when Christmas rolled around, Hairdresser asked to help. She knew many people in Thorncliffe Park through her salon business and referred many Muslim ladies to us for Christmas baskets and brought them to our Underground Church services! God was working in her heart and, over the years, Dreamer mentored her as she became a faithful believer, was baptized, and because a helper in Dreamers home church!

When Obed later established the first Afghan church in the Canada, Hairdresser joined as one of the founding members, still attending each week. Currently, she accompanies Dreamer to do home visits with our Muslim contacts, and is a great help with our Christmas basket distribution.
